Black Pepper

We all know that black pepper adds flavor to our food, but did you know that it is also classified as a medicinal spice? Black pepper is packed with potassium, magnesium, iron, and vitamins C and K. Plus, it feels wonderful when applied to sore muscles.

Black Walnut Bark & Leaves

The black walnut used in our Healing Salve is a wonderful source of calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, silicon, zinc, tannin, B-vitamins, and vitamin C. All of these beneficial properties make this a wonderful antifungal and antiviral.

Burdock

You will find burdock in our CannaSore Salve. This herb has been used for many hundreds of years to treat a variety of skin diseases, including acne, psoriasis, eczema, abscesses, and boils. Burdock works by increasing blood circulation to the skin, helping the body’s largest organ to detox.

California Poppy

We use California Poppy in our Elderberry Kush Cough Syrup as an antispasmodic and for its analgesic effects. These properties make our cough syrup soothing and works to prevent nonproductive coughs that hurt your throat.

Chaparral

We use chaparral in CannaSore Salve as it is a wonderful anti-inflammatory. It’s also a go-to herb for many apothecaries looking to assist cancer treatment, for cardiovascular support, and for the treatment of menopause symptoms.

Cinnamon

There are a lot of incredible health benefits that cinnamon provides. This spice tastes delicious while also increasing circulation, relieving stiffness, and working as an antibacterial.

Cloves

This soothing herb is an excellent catalyst for other herbal remedies, along with having antiseptic properties and great use as a local anesthetic. It’s one of the reasons that our Elderberry Kush Cough Syrup has a comforting numbing effect when used.

Comfrey

Comfrey was originally called “knitbone” and has been used for over 2,000 years to help heal bruises, cuts, muscle sprains, joint inflammation and more. The herb contains components which contribute to inflammation relief and new skin cell growth.

This effective plant was considered a holy tree in the middle ages and was used by apothecaries at the time to ease many ailments. This herb reduces inflammation, can relieve headaches, and works to treat the discomfort caused by cold and flu.

Echinacea

This pretty pink flower has been used for centuries to treat sore throats and toothaches. It is part of the traditional medicine used by the North American Comanche tribe as it boosts the immune system and works as an antibiotic, helping to increase health and alleviate symptoms in people with conditions ranging from the common cold to asthma.

Ginger

This medicinal root is popular among herbalists for all sorts of reasons. Studies show that ginger can reduce pain and inflammation. It’s a wonderful anti-inflammatory, and we use it in our Nana’s Natural Healing Salve. We also use it in our Elderberry Kush Cough Syrup as it has many internal benefits. For example, ginger can increase circulation, help relieve high blood pressure, calm the stomach, and provide comfort to a sore throat.

Horehound

This aromatic herb has a strange name, but it’s an excellent treatment of chest and throat infections like bronchitis. Horehound is part of the mint family and helps ease the passage of air in the lungs, which can be a great relief to conditions like whooping cough, asthma, sore throats, and more.

Lobelia

This sweet blue flower is used in traditional Native American medicine for problems ranging from respiratory ailments to asthma treatment to sprains. Lobelia is rich in vitamins A and C and is an excellent relaxant. You will find lobelia in both our Healing Salve and our Elderberry Kush Cough Syrup.

Mallow Root

The mallow root we use in our Healing Salve is a wonderful anti-inflammatory, helping to diminish swelling and detox uncomfortable areas.

Meadow Sweet

This natural alternative to aspirin has many of the anti-inflammatory and comforting effects found in aspirin, without the adverse side effects. It also has anti-bacterial properties that can aid in countering infections. We use meadow sweet in our Elderberry Kush Cough Syrup.

Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil

Several of our products contain Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil (PCR). We only use the highest quality PCR when creating products like our CannaSore Salve or Elderberry Kush Cough Syrup.

PCR has many healing properties on its own, helping to relieve inflammation, regulate your skin’s natural moisture, and more. It also helps to amplify the healing properties of other herbs, which is the main reason we use it in our healing salves and tinctures here at Nana’s Naturals. In many cases, hemp oil can be utilized as a catalyst to other herbs, providing the human body with just the right balance of natural goodness it needs to ease dis-ease.

Red Clover

This powerhouse is rich in nutrients including calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C. This herb also works as a blood purifier and has been used over the centuries as an anti-cancer agent.

This spice has become very popular lately, and rightly so. It’s an excellent anti-inflammatory and has both antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Studies have shown that turmeric is useful in the treatment of symptoms associated with arthritis, auto-immune disorders, and tendonitis. It was called the “all-heal” during the Middle Ages and is still used today to combat muscular tension, insomnia, muscle spasms and more. We use it in our Elderberry Kush Cough Syrup to help ease coughing and to allow people to stop suffering and begin healing.

White Willow Bark

We use white willow bark in our healing salve for good reason. It has many wonderful properties including alleviating arthritis symptoms, anti-inflammatory and reducing irritations. When used on the skin, white willow bark can help manage pain and inflammation caused by back pain, headache, knee pain, joint pain, and more.

Avocado Oil

You can find avocado oil in our CannaSore Salve. This soothing oil helps create smooth skin and reduces inflammation and itchiness. Avocado oil has a high level of vitamin E, which is a true skin healer.

Beeswax

Many products use beeswax for skin care, and there is a good reason for this. Much like honey, beeswax has antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties, helping to soothe skin discomfort and keep infections at bay. Additionally, because beeswax is made naturally to protect bees and their precious honey, it is an excellent product for sealing moisture without smothering your skin or clogging your pores. We use beeswax both in our Hemp Stick and our CannaSore Salve.
